What a Sukkot!-Another Person Gets Saved!

This has been one unbelievable week. Just two weeks ago on the same day my brother passed away, Mr. T gave his life to the Lord and has been on fire ever since. Today, on the eighth day, the last great day of the Feast, another guy gave his life to the Lord...right in the sukkah of all places! What a week!

God is really a woman

God is really a woman
Written by Jim Staley

Mr. T is hilarious. He is not only a brand new Believer but it like a kid right out of the womb exploring all the neat new stuff in its new world. Today, in the sukkah, we were talking about the dietary laws and I glanced over at him cause I knew that he didn't know that Messianics don't eat pork or seafood. His mouth started coming open as he started to piece together what was happening and he jumped in and said, "Uh....are you guys saying we can't eat pork? Are you serious?" We all started laughing as the cat was now out of the bag. Then he's like, "Dang! First you tell me that God created the universe inside of some cosmic womb. Then I keep finding out that He keeps telling us to do things that we don't want to do and it's for our best interest and He is always right. Are you sure God is not a woman?" to which we all started barrel laughing! He went on to say, "No, I'm serious! Only women have wombs and they are constantly telling us to not do stuff that we want to do and we argue with them and they always end up being right. I think God is really a woman."

MR. T GETS SAVED!

Okay...so maybe it's not the Mr. T that you're thinking of... ;-) Nevertheless, another soul has given his life to Christ here at Marion Camp. Since he likes to keep a low profile, we'll call him Mr. T. He's a powerlifter and loves to work out. He's in Juan's workout group - called a car - and sometimes I join them when my workout overlaps their time. Mr. T is a great guy and has been hanging around our group and coming to our services for about the past month.

Incredible Second Day of Sukkot! Part 2 - Chiseled in the Spirit

Incredible Second Day of Sukkot! Part 2 - Chiseled in the Spirit
Written by Jim Staley

Not only was OB super blessed by the revelation that the Spirit gave him, but I was also blessed as well. My blessing started back in Israel with a close friend of mine who works with archaeologists and is an expert on the history of the House of David. After we finished filming for the documentary about the discovery (that will hopefully someday come out) he presented me with a gift. He told me it was one of the most prized gifts that I could receive. After building it up and telling me how special it was, he then presented me with it. I was less than impressed as he handed me what appeared to be a heavy rusted metal door stopper. I thought for sure it would be something far more significant like the spear of Goliath or the sling of David. That would have been very cool. An ancient door stopper? Really? I would quickly find out that it was not a door stopper. :)

Incredible Second Day of Sukkot! Part 1

Incredible Second Day of Sukkot! Part 1
Written by Jim Staley

Today was simply incredible as there are no other words to describe it. I decided I was going to go down to the sukkah today and spend time with the Lord through prayer, reading and just meditating on His greatness. I didn't know that O.B. was planning on doing the same thing. So we ended up going down there together. I was planning on reading a rabbinical study on Sukkot, looking for nuggets of truth, while he was planning on finishing the Identity Crisis transcript that he started last night. We both sat in opposite corners of the sukkah reading with one hand and holding down the entire thing with the other. The wind was gusting like we were in the middle of Kansas and at one point the gust was so much that the whole thing would have tumbled over if we hadn't been there. Hmmm...(another lesson for another day. :)
